As a pioneer in the field of acoustics, Abstracta has embraced the growing interest in sound absorption and more efficient working environments. Unlike visual landscapes, soundscapes can’t be seen.
Abstracta has used this as its starting point and, combined with the company’s knowledge in this area, has developed products that create effective soundscapes for different office environments.
Domo Wall
Domo’s dynamic visual expression arises in the interplay with the light and shadows formed by the bevelled edges. Domo offers scope for playful combinations of different sizes and colours.
Domo Wall Booth
Domo sound-absorbent wall booths are ideal in environments where there is an occasional need for a quiet, isolated area. Combine the booth with open seating in an activity-based office to enable both open and private communication.
DoReMi Floor
DoReMi can be used as a free-standing solitaire or connected together to screen off a larger area.
Both sides of the screen are covered with a compressed 100% polyester felt panelling. The unique felt panelling is sound absorbing and is available with unique embossed patterns.
Jetty
The problem with most tables is that they are rather loud. Hard table tops reflect and amplify ambient noise. Jetty is therefore fitted with a Strata tabletop, which is composed of several layers of natural materials that interact to absorb ambient noise while dampening sound emanating from the table through use. Jetty appeals with a simplicity that feels more Japanese than typically Scandinavian, and which is found in other works by Holm.
Lily
The Lily lamp represents a whole new perspective on acoustic products. Its noise-dampening feature – the moulded felt from which it is made – has been so thoroughly integrated that you don’t even notice it.
Lily got its name from its early prototypes, which resembled water lily leaves. Since then, its shape has been simplified and made more open to interpretation. Still present, however, is the sense that the lamp is floating in the air, imbuing the room with a splendid stillness.
Mixx
Mixx is a range of AV-products created for the modern conference room with the design conscious client in mind. It consists of products such as a lectern, flipchart stand, catering trolley, work station and a projector trolley.
Plenty Pod
When you need a quiet room for an undisturbed meeting, working or an important phone call Plenty Pod is the solution. Plenty Pod is a series of mobile, quite rooms. They are especially suited for noisy areas such as open-plan offices and public spaces.
Scala Ceiling
The ceiling-hung version prevents sound waves to continue upwards in the room, which contributes to a more pleasant soundscape.
The product is on request available with fire rated filling according to standard EN13501-1, B-S1,d0 and with Crib5-treated fabric. Includes wire kit for adjustable suspension. Available with or without lighting.
Scala Floor
Scala floor screens are covered by felt on both sides. For the floor- and the table screens, Anya Sebton has developed stands, composed by steel pipes, which highlight the spontaneous manner of the design.
Scala Pendant
The new Scala vertical hanging room divider are covered by felt on both sides. Mounted in the ceiling by a discret wire, which is attached to a black fitting at the top of the absorber.
Scala Wall
Scala Wall is a playful paraphrase on corrugated iron that simultaneously employs the functionality of the shape. The moulded felt absorbs sound and the wave-shaped surface effectively breaks the sound waves.
Sky Ceiling
Insipid, featureless ceilings compromise the overall impression made by far too many interior environments. Sky, a modular system developed by Abstracta and designer Stefan Borselius, sets out to change this with a design language that imbues a room with visual energy while improving its soundscape.
Sky Ceiling´s solution allows an easy attachment with magnets directly to a ceiling’s metal construction, which makes possible to experiment with different arrangements and change things around.
